Dr. Samura Kamara Urges APC Supporters to Emulate U.S. Democrats’ Unity

Dr. Samura Wilson Kamara, the 2018 presidential candidate for Sierra Leone’s All People’s Congress (APC), recently took to social media to encourage his party members to follow the example set by the United States Democratic Party.

In a post on his X page, Kamara applauded the U.S. Democrats for their display of unity and camaraderie during their recent convention, noting how even lesser-known members could rise to prominence with the support of their peers.

Kamara stressed the significance of internal solidarity within the APC, drawing a parallel between the Democrats’ successful convention and the need for a cohesive front within his party.

He urged APC supporters to bolster their collective pride and determination, suggesting that such unity could rejuvenate the party and elevate its standing for the benefit of Sierra Leone.

“As APCians, we should rally among ourselves to achieve and preserve the overarching AIM of a political party which our founding fathers had prescribed,” Kamara stated, encouraging members to reflect on the principles of true comradeship.

Kamara’s message arrives at a pivotal moment for the APC, as the party seeks to regroup and strategize ahead of future elections. His call for unity is seen as a crucial step in fostering cohesion within a party that has faced internal challenges in recent years.

By invoking the Democrats’ example, Kamara aims to inspire his party to revisit the values that once made the APC a formidable force in Sierra Leonean politics.

He emphasized that unity and shared purpose are essential for the party’s success and urged members to come together in the spirit of collaboration and mutual support.

Kamara’s message concluded with a reminder to APC members to reflect on the core values that have historically driven the party’s achievements.

His appeal for unity is expected to resonate with supporters, as the APC looks to strengthen its internal bonds and prepare for the challenges ahead.
