Hon. Dr. Abass Bundu, the Speaker of Parliament for Sierra Leone, has asked all authorities to impose severe penalties on the producers, importers, and distributors of the synthetic drug Kush.
Bundu stated that in order to effectively deal with the production, distribution, and international marketing of these drugs, a coordinated national, regional, and global effort is required. He added that some authorities are now closer to these individuals and that the action taken needs to be very strong and leave no one found wanting in the act.
He continued by saying that although the medications' accessibility on the market is also enticing people to take them, the struggle would turn out well once the supply chain is addressed. He warned, "If this is not done quickly, the menace will only grow stronger and soon pose a serious threat to both our national security and our country's future."
In order to address the matter, he asked all pertinent parliamentary committees to work together and submit timely and sensible resolutions. He vehemently advocated for the government and parliament of Sierra Leone to implement laws and policies that would expeditiously battle and resolve the crisis.
This appeal for coordinated action emphasizes how serious the situation is and how urgently quick action is required. His advocacy for preventive measures and mobilization of legislative efforts underlines his commitment to tackle the problem head-on, demonstrating a firm position to protect the interests and well-being of the country and its residents.
He emphasized how crucial it is to begin an immediate effort against the Kush danger in order to protect lives and the integrity of the country. He emphasized that in order for this endeavor to be successful, the entire Sierra Leonean population must come together and emphasize the importance of local initiatives prior to external contributions.
This call to arms emphasizes how serious the situation is and how urgent it is that everyone work together. He promotes a proactive strategy to meet the problem by emphasizing internal mobilization and energizing national cohesion, displaying a steadfast commitment to safeguarding the country's security and resilience against external threats.
