APC's National Chairman Responds to Planned Protest on January 17, Urges Caution and Respect for Legal Process.

The All-People's Congress (APC) leadership recently issued a press release in response to rumors on social media regarding an upcoming demonstration in favor of suspects linked to the purported failed coup attempt on November 26.

The APC made it clear that it has not called for any protest of any kind and asked people to stay away from participating, including members and sympathizers.

The party reminded the public of its stance on the failed coup, emphasizing that on November 27, 2023, the APC issued a statement condemning the incident and expressing full support and cooperation with law enforcement agencies during their investigations. Notably, the former Chairman and Leader, along with the National Organizing Secretary, have been charged to court, and other party members have been linked to the coup.

Acknowledging the gravity of the situation, the APC assured its members that the leadership is committed to ensuring a fair trial and justice for the accused. The party highlighted its dedication to upholding the dignity and human rights of the former Chairman and Leader and the National Organizing Secretary. The leadership called on all members and supporters to respect the judicial process and refrain from participating in any unsanctioned and organized protests.

As the party navigates through these challenging times, the APC leadership urged its members to be law-abiding and trust the legal system to unveil the truth. While emphasizing the importance of allowing the judicial process to unfold, the party assured its commitment to exploring more meaningful ways to address the matter.

The APC's message revolves around unity and adherence to the rule of law. The leadership emphasized that taking the law into one's own hands is not the solution, and they are actively working towards resolving the matter within the legal framework. The press release serves as a call to maintain peace and order within the party and the larger community.
