Kenyan Man Missing for 47 Years After Rice Errand Finally Returns Home: A Remarkable Reunion

James Mwaura, a 70-year-old Kenyan, has amazingly returned home to Molo, Nakuru County, after an incredible 47-year absence. The story of his unannounced return begins on the fateful day he disappeared at the age of 23, having been sent to a nearby store to buy rice for his family.
Mwaura unintentionally ended up in Nairobi without money or familiar faces after getting lost in the strange streets. His brothers had moved away from the city where they had first lived, leaving him alone and cut off from his history. Many years later, social media—especially Facebook—became a crucial tool in his family's reunion.

Mwaura was browsing Facebook when she came across a face that looked kind of familiar. Taking the lead, He decided to message the person on his own initiative and found out it was one of his nephews. After some discussion, a meeting was scheduled for this coming Wednesday. The eagerly anticipated family get-together transpired on Thursday, July 22.
Many years ago, Mwaura had set out to start a new life in Nyeri County, at Naro Moru. He told his shocked family he was a happily married man with four grandchildren and three children. Mwaura's triumphant return, accompanied by a smart blue suit, was a touching coda to a journey spanning several decades, enabled by the surprising influence of social media connections.
